Wow... another summer come and gone... I must say, this summer has been a very interesting learning experience. Here's a few of the things that i've learned so far:
1. Whopper Juniors are a godsend.... definitely $1 well-spent, especially if you're a bum that can't cook for yourself like me.
2. I have a thing for cute nurse interns with dimples and big sparkly anime eyes *melt*
3. Things change very quickly... you leave for a 10 week internship and come back to a place that's completely different from when you left.
4. Sleep is the best thing since sliced bread.
All things considered, this summer has been rather fulfilling. I've learned what it's like to have a "real" job, how to deal with people who are often disagreeable, and how to enjoy the simple things. I've realized that I take a lot of things for granted... and how much of an adjustment it's gonna be when those things aren't there anymore.
Long gone are the days of summer where I would wake up at noon, get some food, play basketball until 4:30, come back inside, eat dinner with the family, and then head back outside until it got dark. Now, I wake up at 6:45 AM, get to work by 8, and stay until 4:30 PM. My my... how I miss those days... but we all gotta grow up, right?
Sitting here at my desk, with all these papers around me, and the sound of laboratory equipment running samples and taking measurements... I wonder whether or not i'm really ready to deal with all this.
But for right now, i'm enjoying having very minimal responsibilities. Eat, sleep, work, have fun every now and then... what else can I ask for? I thank God every day for giving me responsible parents that urge me to seize every opportunity that I can. Being a couch potato would never allow me to see half of the things that I have experienced.
Where am I headed? Who knows... all I know that is i'll enjoy every minute of the ride.
If nobody has told you this today... I think you're awesome!
